WHY DO I HAVE SMOKE WHEN USING ?
It is a real pizza oven, and here are the tips to minimise any smoke:
- Make sure to always scrape between pizzas to remove all food, cheese, dough, flour. Scrape into a bowl and discard
- Don't leave the Pizza grill on HIGH between pizzas - throw your next one on quickly or turn it down and make sure there are no food remnants as its hot, and like any heating element (think a fry pan) the small bits burn and smoke.
- Flour is flammable, so never sprinkle the pizza stone directly with flour, (or oil) or anything.
- ONCE COOLED, do a big scrape of anything raised on the stone. Don't worry about the black, it adds flavor, and don't worry about the stone , it won't damage with regular scraping.
